Losing the power of your arms isn’t conducive to teaching; in fact it is paramount in any activity! But it was at this particular juncture in Madelaina’s life, when she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which revealed a hidden talent, ‘The Natural Ability of Portraiture!’ (WirralMetropolitanCollege 07)

Having never painted before, a part from the bathroom walls, Madelaina used her newfound gift as therapy and turned her shattered world of worthless into having a purpose! She became prolific, painting and drawing daily; through her physical demise she soon had put a portfolio together! Her first portrait of Ringo Starr was put on the Liverpool Academy of Art website, much to her amazement! This was followed swiftly by her portrait of ‘Celine!’ which sold at the Private View of The Williamson Art Gallery’s Spring Show! It was at this point when Madelaina started to appreciate her new gift and went on to exhibit her work through the Capital of Culture Year celebrations:

July 08: Debut Exhibition - Beauty vs. the Beast. The Liverpool Academy of Art.

August 08: 4Beats (Original Beatles Artwork) was used to advertise the annual ‘Come Together’ Exhibition at The Liverpool Academy of Art…..which has now become Madelaina’s trademark!

August 08: Art-Wars! Madelaina and International Artist Mr D. Tolley exhibit in The Next to Nowhere Building Liverpool.

August 08: Let it be Ringo and Let it be George, Original Beatles Artwork are exhibited in the Tso/Yummy’s Chinese Restaurants during The Beatles Festival.

November/December 08: Mac and Cheese (A portrait of Sir Paul McCartney!) and 4Beats are exhibited at The Hard Days Night Hotel/ Gallery. Madelaina’s Limited Edition Prints are sold on the Premises! (See Products.)

August 09: Madelaina is invited to CND rally to sell her Peace is the Word Artwork, T-shirts and Prints! Mr Joe McGann made a purchase! (see Celebrity Contacts)

September 09: Solo Exhibition – Icons in the Picture at Blackburne House is opened by International vocalist Miss Laura Critchley

September 09: Madelaina paints Ricky Tomlinson’s Portrait and has it signed by the comedian to be auctioned for Fibromyalgia. (See Celebrity Portraits)

October 09: Madelaina launches her own gallery: The Gallery – Liverpool’s Best Kept Secret, Clayton Square Shopping Centre, Liverpool L1 1QR.
